When it comes to our physical fitness, we leave a lot to be desired these days. This is an era of luxury and convenience, and it’s having surprising effects on our bodies. We’re sitting way too much, way too often, and that’s weakening our core muscles, and that can lead to a number of health complications, the least of which is chronic back pain, for example. In this modern age of inactivity, it’s important to try to find ways to interject some activity into our lives in order to restore some of the fitness that older lifestyles had baked right into them. Here are some of the ways you could get your exercise without it being considered work.
First and foremost, there’s travel. Travel is a great way to get exercise, because you’ll be spending a lot of time walking around. You’ll be taking in the sites, doing some shopping, meeting new people, and a variety of other things that involve locomotion, aka moving around, and that’s a good way to burn calories, strengthen your neglected abdominal and back muscles, and a variety of other health benefits just from doing something most of us just wish we could anyway. So, one good way to get fit without even trying is by booking a flight to a far off land with Expedia and just having the time of your life.
Another great way to exercise without exercising is to play sports. Sports are, as you might imagine, high octane games of athletic prowess, when played correctly. Now, I’m not insinuating you need to go join the NFL or anything, but playing a game on the weekends with family and friends could be a nice new family tradition that just so happens to be filling in the gaps of your fitness regimen.
